I found this article online about cognitive bias and thought it was a really important read since it is extremely relevant to how we approach our daily lives and thinking processes.

We are all guilty of one or more of the biases on this list. However, I think it says a lot that about human achievement that we have been able to find ways to get around or minimize the impact of these biases on our understanding of how the world really works. This is one of the great things about the scientific method, for instance. It relies on experimental observation rather than anecdotal evidence to deduce how things operate in the real world. Biases can still occur in science, but that is why the peer review process is in place. Regardless, if science has progressed it is by being able to challenge our cognitive biases. In other words our "common sense" notion of the world.

It's a worthwhile read.

I am a self-taught artist currently living in Ottawa, Ontario. The type of art that I enjoy doing the most is the kind of art where I can let my imagination run wild. I especially like creating new and interesting characters. In this regard I am heavily inspired by Science Fiction and Fantasy themes which run throughout most of my work. However, on occasion I also enjoy doing traditional portraiture and still life drawings. I work mainly with graphite pencil, pen and coloured pencil drawings ...with a little digital thrown in.

This page is where I post both my best works and those that I am still uncertain about. In that spirit, I am always looking for comments to help me improve my art.

For me inspiration is just something that happens and it isn't usually attributable to any one thing. However, there are some things that influence my art such as my interest in Sci-Fi and Fantasy.

Interesting...kind of like me. I ask because I see you as one of the smartest (or seemingly smart) people I've met on here. I respect that :iconhandshakeplz:

Smartest? I hope not. It wouldn't say a whole lot about the caliber of people on DA if I'm setting the bar. ;)
